Contact Lenses

As an alternative to glasses and refractive surgery, contact lenses are a great method for optically correcting myopia (nearsighted), hyperopia (farsighted), and presbyopia (need for bifocals). Following a comprehensive eye examination, our optometrist will determine if you are a candidate for contact lenses and recommend the appropriate lens based on your lifestyle and visual needs.

A contact lens is a foreign body placed onto the front part of your eye, called the cornea; it interacts with both the inner tissue of your eyelid and your tears. The FDA considers contact lenses to be a medical device that can only be dispensed by prescription. In 2004, a law was passed that set the expiration date of contact lens prescriptions at 1 year.

At Berks Eye, we prescribe various types of contact lenses to correct for myopia/hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia (multifocals), keratoconus, aphakia, and certain corneal disorders or injuries including:

  • Soft Contact Lenses(Daily, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly)
  • Gas Permeable Contact Lenses
  • Corneal Refractive Therapy(Paragon CRT)
  • Colored Contact Lenses
  • Therapeutric Contact Lenses

We stock many lenses for immediate dispensing right from our office! To find out if we have your prescribed lens, contact us at BerksEyeContacts@Gmail.com or (610) 372-0712 and Press #6 for Carissa.
